This is where I will list, in order, all of my blog posts about Cora Brown Hall's wonderful scrapbook
11/22/2020 - The beginning - my husband's great grandmother, Cora Emma Brown Hall and her wonderful scrapbook
11/24/2020 - CORA’S SCRAPBOOK ~ Episode 2 – Thomas C. Hall & Cora E. Brown marriage announcement, 1877
12/3/2020 - CORA’S SCRAPBOOK ~ Episode 3–The obituary of her Aunt, Caroline Matilda Snyder Avery – 1841-1885
The wedding cake is interesting for the absence of a groom and the short length of the bridal figure's dress for 1877 fashions. Perhaps the figure represents a fairy nymph rather than the bride? Well, it is surprising to see a wedding cake photo from 1877 period. Thank you for sharing Cora's mementos.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting for sure. Such a treasure to have and be able to pinpoint its origin is even better. Thank you for you comment and for reading my blog posts.
DeleteI am an Avery by birth and a Sanders now by marriage.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Michele Avery Sanders. My father is Robert Avery /twin to William Avery. Their father was Rufus Avery. We have the complete genealogy of the Avery family that traces back to the Rockefeller family and beyond. (His sister married an Avery). If this person is still wanting more information, I can connect them to the family members who have the research.
Hi. Thanks for leaving a message. I would love to have more information about the Avery's. This is my husband's line and his great grandmother Cora referenced the family in her scrapbook. I have not found anything on Frederick Avery who married Emeline Case and had 3 children: Mary, Cemanthe and Calvin. I need information about who Frederick's parents were, but despite my best research efforts I cannot find this information. This family was in Skaneateles, New York. Please get back in touch and we can exchange information. Thank you.
